In partnership with TAFE Queensland, our apprentices graduate with a Certificate III in Carpentry, gaining essential knowledge and skills of how to construct, install, finish and repair structures and fixtures for commercial and industrial developments.

ELIGIBILITYTo be eligible, applicants will be required to complete and be available for all stages of the recruitment process. This includes online application (including all documents), and attending an interview. You must be an honest, reliable and conscientious worker. Are apprenticeships only for school leavers? No, we welcome applications from all ages! Do I need to have completed year 12? As a minimum we do require recent school leavers (within the last 5 years) to have completed year 12 and have achieved sound achievements in Maths and English. You will be asked to provide evidence of your school results when completing your application. Relevant work experience will be considered for those who have not completed year 12. Do I need to have a driver's licence? It is preferred that you hold at least a C class drivers licence, but not essential. Can I apply if I live overseas? You must be a permanent Australian resident or hold a relevant permanent visa at the time you apply. We do not provide visa sponsorship for apprentice positions. Can I apply if I have already commenced an apprenticeship? We do accept applications from candidates who have already commenced an apprenticeship in the same trade they are applying for.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS1. Online Application: The online application allows you to tell us who you are, which role you are applying for, your skills and experience and why you want to complete an apprenticeship with GRIFFIN. 2. Documents you will be required to attach include: Your resume (including references) and cover letter. A copy of your recent school results if you have left school in the last 5 years, as well as your high school graduation certificate. 3. Interview: This will allow us to gain a further understanding of who you are, and an opportunity to tell us more about yourself and ask questions. 4. Pre-employment Medical and Reference Checks: This stage of the process will see successful candidates from the interviews progress to pre-employment medicals and reference checks. 5. Offer: Successful candidates will be formally offered an apprenticeship in writing.

PREPARING YOUR APPLICATION1. Prepare your application: Read the job advertisement and apprentice website information including recruitment process before applying to understand the key responsibilities that are involved in the job. Customise your resume and cover letter for the job. Make sure to proof-read everything. 2. Attach the required documents to your application: Resume, Cover letter, your most recent school report (if applicable) & high school graduation certificate. 3. FAQ'sCan I apply in person? Due to the large volume of applications we receive, we require all applications are made online. Do you offer relocation? Relocation is not offered for apprentice roles and if successful apprentices must live locally. Can I apply for more than one apprenticeship/location? You will only be able to apply for one apprenticeship and location when making your application. How long are the apprenticeships for? Apprenticeships are offered for 4 years nominally, however as apprenticeships are competency based there is an opportunity to complete training earlier. If I am successful, when will I commence? Apprentices who are successful will commence in early February of the following year. Can I apply if I have applied previously? We certainly welcome applications from candidates who have previously applied. Can I apply if I already have a trade? You can apply if you already have a trade however, we do ask you consider how similar your current trade is to the one you are applying for as you may have already completed many of the competencies required and would not be required to complete a full apprenticeship.
